About the MWC Virtual Travel Support Club

Traveling in widowhood is a big step into a future of new experiences and adventure for widows. At Modern Widows Club, we know there is value in learning from others who have done this before you, sharing their widow wisdom to ease your concerns. That’s why we established the MWC Travel Support Club.

From trips to reach out to other widows around the globe, to trips for pleasure — let’s travel this road together and share new experiences! Join other widows with the same desire to travel, whether simply to broaden horizons or perhaps to build a mud hut in Kenya. This club is for the brave-hearted looking to find adventure!

You may think you will never have an adventure again, but traveling with the MWC Travel Club is a way to comfortably get out there in the world and explore someplace new. Joining your Wisters (widow + sisters), you will learn from one another and grow together.

Please know that you are not alone and that many have walked this journey before! That combined wisdom is what makes the MWC Travel Club truly extraordinary. Connect and find your fellow traveling Wisters!

In February 2006, Janet became widowed when her son had just turned six years old. At that time, Modern Widows Club had not yet been established, and navigating widowhood without a community like MWC was especially challenging. Janet has owned ATEC Travel since 1992 and is a trusted travel partner of Modern Widows Club. For decades, she has served her clients with care, integrity, and a deep commitment to personalized service. As a widow herself, Janet understands the anxiety many widows experience when taking their first trip without their husband. Through the partnership between ATEC Travel and Modern Widows Club, Janet’s expertise and lived experience bring confidence, comfort, and hope to our Wister community. Wisters are able to travel again knowing they are supported every step of the way. While their journey may begin solo, they are never alone.
